Columbia, SC- The lady Cobras gained another non conference win yesterday against Columbia College. The Cobras dominated from the outset and won all three doubles matches. Spencer and Davis played excellent tennis at number two doubles and picked up a comfortable victory 8-3. Number one doubles was a lot closer with Santos and Smith winning 9-7 to put the cobras up two zero. The third victory soon came with Schaum and Konopa battling hard to a tie break 9-8 win at number three.


In singles the lady Cobras again came out strong and gained a couple of early wins. Cassidy Spencer dominated at number two singles and won the first set 6-4 and cruised through the second 6-0. Neely Davis also won comfortably at number four singles and bought home a 6-1, 6-3 victory for the Cobras. The closest match came at number one singles for Andrea Santos. Santos took an early lead winning the first set 6-2. However her opponent didn’t give up and won a close second set 6-4. The match went onto a ten point tie break which was a close contest but Santos came through for the Cobras with a 10-8 Victory.


This win moves the lady cobras to 3-2 for the season. The lady cobra’s next match is this Saturday 11th March at 3pm away at Barton College.
