Hartsville, S.C. – The Coker volleyball team lost to the Anderson Trojans on Friday night in a Conference Carolinas match 3-1. For the second straight match the Lady Cobras won the opening set of the match, only to fall in the next three. Coker won the opening frame 25-20, followed by straight losses of 25-11, 25-22, and 25-21.

The win improves Anderson to 17-11 overall and 9-5 in conference play, while Coker drops to 3-24 overall and 1-13 in the conference.

Jamie Lancaster (Fountain Inn, S.C.) was a force to be reckoned with on the floor tonight, recording a double-double with 18 kills and 17 digs. Adria Mullaney (Tampa, Fla.) was close behind in the kill category with 17 kills and seven digs. Katie Rich (Lexington, S.C.) was the dig leader with 18, while Marlie Bryant (Easley, S.C.) had 11 digs. Lindsay Doggett (Jacksonville, Ala.) handed out 37 assists and had nine digs.

April Griggs (Bishopville, S.C.) led the Lady Cobras offense with 11 kills, followed by the trio of Lisa Ross (Bowling Green, Ky.), Kristin Teets (Columbia, S.C.) and Cynallyhia Indriago (Columbia, S.C.) each with six kills. Trisha Moore (Rock Hill, S.C.) had 14 digs, while Ross and Molly Bookhart (Orangeburg, S.C.) had eight digs each. Bookhart also had 26 assists for Coker. 

Coker returns to action on Saturday, as they host Erskine College in their final ho9me match of the season at 2:00 p.m., while Anderson travels to St. Andrews Presbyterian College.
