HARTSVILLE, S.C. – During October, Coker student-athletes from the Cobras 22 athletic programs have logged 937 hours of community service.
In all, Coker student-athletes participated in 28 service opportunities with 17 different organizations. Some of the events and organizations Coker student-athletes helped at were Treats on the Streets, Trunk or Treat, Fall Festivals at several elementary schools, pumpkin delivery at Central United Methodist Church, Taste of Coker, Bible School, Domestic Violence March, Charlotte Motor Speedway, and packing food bags for Carolina Kids, Inc.
"I continue to be proud of the commitment to community engagement by our student-athletes and coaches," stated vice president for athletics and athletic facilities, Dr. Lynn Griffin.
Coker student-athletes have now earned 5,467 hours of community service since August.
