Cobras Edge Mars Hill to Advance to Conference Carolinas Semifinals
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker University acrobatics & tumbling team secured a hard-fought victory over Mars Hill, 254.495–252.175, on Tuesday evening to advance to the Conference Carolinas Semifinals.
Coker (7-2) used a strong second half to pull away in a tightly contested meet, overcoming a narrow halftime deficit with consistent execution across the remaining events.
The Cobras opened the meet with a solid showing in the Compulsory event, posting a 35.95 to edge Mars Hill's 34.30. Coker continued to battle through the Acro event, narrowly taking the total, 27.70–27.20, highlighted by a strong performance in the seven-element heat.
Mars Hill responded in the Pyramid event, but Coker remained within striking distance heading into the second half. The Cobras turned the momentum in the Toss event, outscoring the Lions 26.55–26.00, before delivering a decisive performance in the Tumbling event. Coker posted a 52.725 in Tumbling, highlighted by strong passes across multiple heats, to extend its lead.
In the Team Event, Coker sealed the victory with an 84.32, securing the 2.32-point win and punching its ticket to the semifinal round.

Coker advances to the Conference Carolinas Semifinals, where the Cobras will face No. 1 seed Wingate. The semifinal meet will be hosted by Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, Georgia, on Saturday, April 11. Coker is set to hit the mat at noon.
