Baseball Drops two of the Conference Series
The Cobras came up just short and today’s action
Tusculum, TN- Coker looked to take the series against Tusculum on the road. Coker looked good in both games but fell short in Saturday's match-up. Coker went on to drop both games (4-3) and (6-5).
Game 1 L- (4-3)
Coker put together a good game in the first game but fell in the last inning to a game-winning drive. Coker kept the game tight as neither team could pull away. Eli Hopkins singled up middle scoring Nick Leonard and putting the first runner up for Coker. Leonard singled down the line scoring two runs who were Donavan Frayer and Adam Wilkerson that was on from earlier in the inning giving the team their first lead of the game. The Pioneer's went on to score two runs in the bottom of the 9th winning the game on a walk-off.
Game 2 L-(6-5)
Game two was another nail-biter for the Cobras. Coker jumped to an early lead scoring three runs in the first inning. Led by Leonard at the top of the first flew out having himself a sacrifice fly scoring Frayer. Ashby Vining had a sacrifice fly as well scoring Cameron Ferrell. At the top of the 5th Kody Hanna hit into a fielder's choice scoring Ferrell who was able to get home on an error throw. Wilkerson singled through the right side scoring another run. Coker went on two drop in the second game (6-5).
