Coker Drops Heartbreaker in 10 Innings at USCA
The Cobras led the entire game and held a 7-4 lead entering the ninth inning before USCA plated three runs to tie and scored the winning run in the 10th inning on a bases loaded walk.
AIKEN, S.C. – The Coker University baseball team dropped a heartbreaker to USC Aiken, 8-7, in 10 innings on Wednesday afternoon at Roberto Hernandez Stadium.
The Cobras led from the early innings and carried a 7-4 advantage into the ninth. USC Aiken rallied for three runs in the bottom of the ninth to even the score before drawing a bases-loaded walk in the 10th inning to secure the walk-off victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Coker scored a single run in each of the first four innings to build a 4-2 lead entering the sixth. The Cobras added another run in the sixth and tacked on two more in the seventh to extend their advantage.
Holding a 7-3 lead entering the eighth inning, Coker allowed a single run in the frame before USC Aiken evened the score in the ninth with three runs.
In the bottom of the 10th, USC Aiken loaded the bases and drew a walk to bring home the winning run.

Coker returns home to host Wingate for a three-game South Atlantic Conference series this weekend. Game one is slated for 6PM on Friday inside Tom J. New Field at Dave Schmotzer Stadium.
