HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Coker College field hockey player, Kelly Mason has been named the SPC Credit Union Student-Athlete of the Month for October.
Mason led the Cobras to a 3-3 record in the month of October, improving Coker's record to 5-5 overall and 4-4 in the conference this season. The junior forward from Canastota, New York recorded five goals and three assists for a total of 13 points during the month of October.
Mason capped off a successful month being named the South Atlantic Conference Carolinas AstroTurf Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week and earning a spot on the Synapse Sports National Honor Roll during the week of Oct. 15 - Oct. 21. During that week, Mason led the Navy and Gold to a pair of conference victories, defeating Queens (4-3) and Newberry (5-1). The forward scored two goals, including the game winner, with an assist against Queens, while adding another goal and an assist versus Newberry. For the week she had three goals, with two assists for eight points.
She is a business major and is the daughter of James and Colleen Mason.
