GREENEVILLE, TENN. – The Coker College men's basketball team fell to the Tusculum College Pioneers on Saturday (Dec. 17) in South Atlantic Conference road matchup by a score of 99-83.
The first half was all Tusculum from the opening tip, taking a 13-5 lead into the under 16-minute media timeout. The deficit for the Cobras continued to hover around the 10-point mark, being trimmed to as low as six with 7:55 left. However, the Pioneers finished the half on a 14-4 run to take a 59-38 lead into the locker rooms.
The Cobras could not cut into the Pioneer lead during the final 20 minutes, giving Tusculum the eventual 99-83 SAC win.
JaQuez Motley led the way with 24 points, all of which came from three. Larry Cooper finished the afternoon with a career-high 13 points and 10 rebounds.
The Cobras will be back in action on Friday (Dec. 30) when they travel to Hampton University to face the Pirates in an exhibition.
