HICKORY, N.C. – The Coker College men's basketball team fell to the Lenoir-Rhyne University Bears on Wednesday (Feb. 8) in a South Atlantic Conference matchup by a score of 96-67.
Chase Brewington knocked down a three in Coker's opening possession to give the Cobras a 3-0 lead. However, a 20-2 run by the Bears propelled them to a 15-point advantage with 11:21 left in the opening half. Lenoir-Rhyne continued to keep the momentum on its side of the court, taking a 40-22 lead into the locker rooms at half.
The Bears remained in command the remainder of the second half, picking up the eventual 96-67 home win.
Miguel Priest was the lone Cobra in double figures, scoring 18 points on 6-9 shooting. He also pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.
The Cobras will be back in action on Saturday (Feb. 11) when they play host to Tusculum. Opening tip is set for 4 p.m.
