CONOVER, N.C.- Representing Coker men's golf as an independent participant, Wanjoo Lee carded an opening round 76 (+5) at the Division II Southeast Regional on Monday, May 7 at Rock Barn Country Club.
Beginning with a shotgun start, Lee opened with a par on the par-four tenth, before running into trouble on the par-four 11th with a double-bogey. Lee responded with back-to-back pars on the par-four 12th and 13th and sunk a birdie putt on the par-five 14th. After dropping two shots, double-bogeying the par-three 15th, Lee charged back with a birdie on 16 and back-to-back pars on 17 and 18.
At the turn, Wanjoo kept his par streak alive, shooting even through the first three holes, before sinking another birdie on the par-five fourth. Lee stumbled on the fifth and sixth holes, dropping three shots collectively, leading up to back-to-back pars at the seventh and eighth, and finished the round with a bogey at the ninth, carding an opening round 76 (+5).
