Cobras Take 4th In SAC Tournament
Coker uses day three push to place in the top five of SAC tournament.
GREENVILLE, SC. - Coker shot +32 over the course of three days to take fourth at the SAC Championships. The Cobras were led by Thomas Broshears who shot +6 on the tournament.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
On day one, Coker shot +11, which put the Cobras in a tie for fifth place. Derek McGlaughlin paced the Cobras on opening day with an even par scorecard. He birdied five holes over the first 18 holes. Thomas Broshears shot +1, Dax Becker added a +4 score, and Adam Scott rounded out the Cobras opening round with a score of +6.
Adam Scott turned in the best scorecard for Coker in the second round with a score of +1. Broshears, Becker, and McGlaughlin all shot +4 on the round, and Coker put together a score of +13 in round two. The second round score of +13 was the highest score Coker shot on a round all tournament, putting the Cobras in 6th heading into the final round.
Coker made a push over their final 18 holes. In round three, the Cobras saw their first score under par when Dax Becker shot -1. He birdied three holes on the round, while making par on 13 holes. Thomas Broshears added a score of +1, while the Cobras collectively shot +8 on the final round, their best score of the event. This score was good enough to edge out Newberry by three strokes to take sole possession of fourth place on the tournament. Lincoln Memorial won the event outright.
