HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Coker College men's lacrosse goalie Chris Hagy has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday (Mar. 11). This is Hagy's first player of the week honor this season.
Hagy followed up a record-breaking performance of 21 saves in the win over Mars Hill last week with 16 more saves in a dominant day between the pipes on Friday (Mar. 8) in the win over Lincoln Memorial. The sophomore out of Bel Air, Maryland locked it down in goal as he held the Railsplitters, who came into the game averaging just over 10 goals per game, to just seven in the win. After Friday's showing Hagy is the leader in the conference with 91 saves this year, a mark that is also good for 11th best in the nation.
Hagy is the son of Bob and Kris Hagy.
