Cobras Open SAC Play with Convincing Win over E&H

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – For the third straight game, the Coker men's lacrosse team eclipsed the 15-goal mark, opening South Atlantic Conference play Friday with an 18-8 victory over Emory & Henry at Coker Athletic Field.
Kaleb Hiltz paced the Cobras with four goals, while Zyaire Marshall, Jacob Cicco and Cooper Wert each recorded hat tricks with three goals apiece.
The offensive surge marks the first time since early March 2020 that Coker has scored 15 or more goals in three consecutive games.
The Cobras' 4-1 record is the best start to a season since the 2020 season when they opened 6-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Coker scored five goals in the opening 15 minutes, including a pair from the stick of Jacob Cicco.
The Cobras opened the second quarter with a goal to take a 6-0 lead before Emory & Henry cracked the scoring column. Kaleb Hiltz added two more goals in the second quarter, including one in the final seconds of the half to give Coker a 10-4 halftime advantage.
A pair of goals from Zyaire Marshall, along with single tallies by Ryan Forehand and Anthony Hermenau, expanded the Cobras' lead to 14-5 at the end of the third quarter.
Cooper Wert added two fourth-quarter scores to help Coker secure the 18-8 victory.
