Bio
Coach Allen Luton joins the Coker Men’s Soccer staff for the 2025 season. Overall, he has more than 15 years of coaching experience (including 10 years in the college ranks) and has coached in the USL2, NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA, and as a U.S. Olympic Development Program (ODP) Staff Coach during his career.
Prior to joining the Cobras, Luton helped guide the Georgia Military College men’s soccer program to national prominence as Assistant Coach and Recruiting Director. During his time at GMC, the Bulldogs advanced to the National Championships twice — including a National Semifinal appearance —won three straight conference titles and two Atlantic District championships. The Bulldogs also reached No. 1 in the national rankings on several occasions, had three straight seasons of at least one national All-American award-winner, and sent multiple players on to the professional and NCAA Division I ranks.
Luton’s experience also includes six years at Middle Georgia State University, where he served as Men's Soccer Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. He helped earn the program’s first ever national ranking, national All-American and had several players sign to play professionally. Luton has also held several club head coaching positions during his career, including at Macon Soccer Club, Central Georgia Soccer Association, Southern Alliance Futbol, and Athens United. He was also the Head Coach at Mary Persons High School in Forsyth, Ga. ('13-18), amassing a 97-24-5 record with the program, including winning three region titles and region coach of the year awards on two occasions.
As a player, the New York native grew up playing for the Long Island Rough Riders as a youth. In college, he was a 4-year starter and captain for Brewton-Parker College, helping lead the Barons to their only Conference Title and National Tournament appearances in Men's Soccer history. He graduated third all-time in assists and remains the college’s record-holder for games played in a career. Following his college career, Luton had seasons playing for the Atlanta Silverbacks, Charleston Battery, and Lafayette Swamp Cats of the USL and A-League.
Coach Luton has a Master's Degree in Education from Georgia College & State University (‘10) and a Bachelor's in Political Science. He also has a United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Coaching License, Goalkeeping Levels I, II, and USSF B License.
