Spartanburg, SC - Powered by an authoritative second quarter, the Cobras took down the Valkyries by a score of 67-52 to round out play in the calendar year.
Their first quarter matched their season-low of nine points, with Converse outscoring them 12-9 to hold the lead into the second period of play. However, the tables turned in the following quarter, outscoring them 25-12 to take a ten-point lead into the halftime break. They built on that cushion in the second half to come away with the fifteen-point non-conference win.
The Cobras were led in points by senior Mya Wasswa, having 18 in that category to go along with 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Also in double figures were Shawnteanna Tillman (15 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals) and Dasia Ferguson (12 points, 2 steals).
The Cobras will start their 2025 slate on New Year's Day when they travel to Barton to take on the Bulldogs in the last non-conference matchup of the season. Tip-off in that game is scheduled for 2:00 PM ET.
