HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The 10th-ranked Coker women's basketball earned a 64-56 South Atlantic Conference victory over visiting Carson-Newman on Saturday afternoon inside the DeLoach Center.
Junior forward Kamari Thompson led the Cobras to their second SAC win of the young season with 15 points and a career-high 20 rebounds, while senior guard Kristynn Knight had a game-high 18 points and a career-best 10 assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Kristynn Knight's layup in the opening minute gave Coker the early lead, but the first quarter featured four ties and four lead changes before Carson-Newman edged ahead, 15–14, after 10 minutes.
Kamari Thompson tied the score with a free throw to start the second quarter, setting up another tightly contested frame that included two additional ties and five lead changes. The teams went into halftime deadlocked at 29–29.
Carson-Newman scored first to open the second half, but a Kristynn Knight three-pointer swung the lead back to Coker and sparked a 7–0 Cobra run to make it 36–31. Coker continued to control the momentum and stretched the advantage to 52–40 by the end of the third quarter.
The Cobras led the rest of the way, though the Eagles battled back to cut the deficit to 56–50 with just over four minutes remaining. Coker responded by pushing the margin back to double digits, and while Carson-Newman mounted a late surge, it wasn't enough as the Cobras closed out the victory.
