Tillman and Knight Earn All-SAC Honors
Tillman was named to the First Team, while Knight garnered Second Team honors.
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Senior guards Shawnteanna Tillman and Kristynn Knight of the Coker women's basketball team earned All-South Atlantic Conference honors, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
Tillman garnered first team accolades for the second consecutive season. The Columbia, S.C., native ranked second in the conference in scoring at 19.1 points per game, highlighted by a pair of 30-plus point performances. She reached double figures in all 28 regular-season games and also finished second in the SAC with 73 steals while averaging 4.5 rebounds per contest.
During the season, Tillman became the 12th player in Coker women's basketball history to eclipse the 1,000-career point milestone and enters postseason play just 19 points shy of moving into second place on the program's all-time scoring list.
Knight earned second team recognition after averaging 9.3 points, 2.9 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game. The Winston-Salem, N.C., native closed the regular season strong, scoring in double figures in seven of the final eight games, including a career-high-tying 21-point effort at Emory & Henry.
The duo leads the Cobras into this week's SAC Tournament as the No. 3 seed. Coker will open tournament play against Wingate at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center in Rock Hill.
