HARTSVILLE, SC:  Coker took on Chowan University tonight at the Coker Athletic Turf. Christian Johnson was the lone goal scorer for the Cobras as the game finished all tied up.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Coker got off to a hot start as Christian Johnson chipped the keeper to give the Cobras the lead only 7 minutes into the game. The goal started with Floridan Sensation, who sent a beautiful outside-the-foot throughball behind the defense that Johnson calmly sent over the keeper's head and into the top left corner of the goal.
  • After the goal, the Cobras were piling on the pressure but couldn't convert on any of their chances. Going into the half, this game was all Coker, leaving Chowan scrambling.
  • The Second half started much like the first half had ended, with Coker having a majority of the clear-cut chances.
  • Then, in the 78th minute, the Hawks received a penalty off a Hugo Luengo foul in the 18-yard box. The Hawks put the pen away to tie this game up.
  • The game finished up all square with neither side having a clear shot at goal.
