Christian Johnson Named Freshman of the Year
Christian Johnson, Alexis Abalam, Hugo Luengo, and Mouhamadou Savane are all named to the SAC All-Conference Teams.
Rock Hill, SC: Coker is taking home 6 awards this season in the SAC. This includes Christian Johnson being named Freshman of the Year and Coker winning the Fair Play Award.
- Christian Johnson was named to the 2nd team all-conference as a forward. He tallied 6 goals and 2 assists over the course of the season for the Cobras. The native of High Wycombe, England, was also named the SAC Freshman of the Year for his performance throughout the season. Johnson came into his own in the latter half of the season, finding the back of the net in 5 of the 6 games to finish out the season.
- Alexis Abalam was named to the 2nd team all-conference as a forward. The Freshman from Lannion, France, finished the season with 5 goals and 1 assist. His most notable moment was his late-game winner against Tusculum to get the Corbas into playoff contention.
- Hugo Luengo was named to the 2nd team all-conference as a defender. The Spaniard was the captain and general of the Cobra's defense, making big tackles all season. He tallied 1 assist over the course of the season against Tusculum. His darting runs into the offense were a staple over the season, creating opportunities all over the pitch for the Cobras.
- Mouhamadou Savane was named to the 3rd team all-conference as a midfielder. Savane was the quarterback of the Cobras' midfield, dictating the pace of the game and swinging momentum in favor of the Cobras all season. He tallied 1 goal and 2 assists over the course of the season. Savane's biggest moment of the year was his long-range effort against Mars Hill to win the game for the Cobras and secure a place in the SAC tournament.
The Cobras were also awarded the Fair Play award, having only accumulated 17 yellow cards and 1 red card over the course of the season.
