Cobras Make History With Victory at Emory & Henry
The win marked the first time since joining the South Atlantic Conference that the Cobras opened league play 2-0, and the first time overall since 2011 when they competed in Conference Carolinas.
EMORY, VA: History was made Friday night as the Coker volleyball team earned a 3-1 victory over Emory & Henry inside the John Rutledge King Center. The win marked the first time since joining the South Atlantic Conference that the Cobras opened league play 2-0, and the first time overall since 2011 when they competed in Conference Carolinas.
The Cobras took care of business in four sets after they took the opening set, 25-21. Coker then handed E&H a 25-14 loss in the third set and claimed victory with a 25-10 win in the fourth.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Set 1: Coker opened the night with the first two points and held the lead until Emory & Henry battled back to even the score at 8-8. The Cobras responded with a six-point run to go up 14-8 and maintained control the rest of the way, closing the set with six of the final nine points.
Set 2: Coker built an early 8-4 lead, but the Wasps answered with a 6-0 run to swing the momentum. Emory & Henry stretched the margin to 20-13 before the Cobras rallied to pull within 22-20. The Wasps held off the comeback, taking the set 25-21 to even the match.
Set 3: The Cobras regained control, racing out to a 4-1 lead and later building a 13-5 advantage. Coker never looked back, cruising to a 25-14 victory and a 2-1 lead in the match.
Set 4: Riding the momentum, Coker dominated the fourth set. A blistering 14-1 run put the Cobras firmly in control, and they closed out the night with a decisive 25-10 win to secure the historic 3-1 victory.
