Coker Sweeps Newberry In Home Opener
Coker earned a 25-15 win in the opening set, a 25-13 victory in the second set and a come-from-behind 25-21 win in the third set to claim the SAC match
HARTSVILLE, SC - Coker volleyball took care of visiting Newberry in straight sets in the Cobras home opener on Tuesday night inside the DeLoach Center.
Coker earned a 25-15 win in the opening set, a 25-13 victory in the second set and a come-from-behind 25-21 win in the third set to claim the South Atlantic Conference match and win for the third time in as many matches.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
SET 1: The Cobras came out strong in the opening frame. After Newberry tied the score at 4-4, Coker responded with a 6-2 run to take control at 10-6. The Cobras extended their advantage to 17-11 and never looked back, closing the set by winning eight of the final 11 points.
SET 2: In the second set, Coker broke open a tight start with a decisive 10-0 run to build a commanding 16-6 lead. The Wolves managed a brief rally, but the Cobras held firm and finished the set off with an Alyssa Carey kill on set point for a 25-15 win.
SET 3: Newberry looked to shift momentum in the third, racing out to a 12-4 lead after a 6-0 run. But the Cobras roared back out of a timeout, rattling off seven straight points to close the gap. The teams traded points until Coker grabbed the lead at 15-14, then used a 4-0 surge to move ahead 20-17. The Wolves pulled within one late, but Coker sealed the match by scoring five of the final seven points, highlighted by a Pelin Aksoy kill to secure the sweep.
